FOOD SAFETY IS THE TOP PRIORITY FOR US AND OUR CLIENTS

Stemming from 30 years of working solely in food, our expertise in sanitary design and food safety is unparalleled among engineering firms.

Adherence to HACCP and SQF principles is at the forefront of all of our projects and we routinely assist with food safety management plans to identify, reduce and mitigate hazards.

Sampling of schemes we work in:

  • SQF
  • CanadaGAP
  • FSSC 22000
  • Global Aquaculture Alliance
  • GLOBALG.A.P.
  • Global Red Meat Standard
  • ISO 22000
  • PrimusGFS

Food Safety

Food Safety Is Our Top Priority

Considering that compromises in the integrity of the food supply chain can result in consumer illness, a food recall that costs a company millions, the potential of legal action and damage to a brand’s overall reputation, food safety is a top priority for food manufacturers.

We Work In a Wide-Range of Food Safety Schemes

Food Safety Plans

FDA-mandated risk-based preventive controls require that every food processor maintain a food safety plan written and managed by a certified PCQI. Our certified staff can write or update your plan.

Food Safety Audits

New Food Safety Modernization Act rules combined with modernized Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) are driving changes in food safety protocols. We have Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) who can review your operations.

During an audit we:

+ Review Food Safety Plan or HACCP documentation

+ Verify Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures (SSOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Critical Control Points (CCP)

+ Inspect storage, production and processing areas for potential risks

+ Assess equipment, water, sewage, air handling, pest control, and building infrastructure

+ Identify corrective actions to mitigate risks

Each Discipline Must Be Aligned Around Food Safety

From the planning stage through detailed engineering, each discipline plays a critical role around sanitary design.

The control of microbiological, physical and chemical or allergen hazards is critical. Flows of materials, personnel, waste and air must all be analyzed to develop a layout that is efficient for the work processes, yet maintains distinct hygienic zones that offer maximum protection to the processed food.

All disciplines within our firm fully understand sanitary design best-practices. Ongoing education and knowledge sharing from project-to-project ensures our staff stay current on both the evolving regulations and innovations that are yielding safer plants.
