National Mental Health Awareness Month

Millions of people face the reality and stigma of living with mental illness every day. Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 1949 to raise awareness, fight stigmas, provide support, and advocate for policies that support those with mental illness.
National Pet Month

National Pet Month is a celebration of the benefits that pets and their people bring to each other. Here's to all our two, four, and no-legged companions for the smiles they bring us every day.

Calling all Springfield employees! Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Smith's Billiards (the second floor of Theodore's) from 4:30-8pm. Be sure to bring your appetite. There will be plenty of snacks and drinks to enjoy as you play games and hang out with your colleagues!

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOT)
Wednesday May 17
On May 17, 1990, the WHO approved the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD 10), which no longer listed homosexuality as a diagnosis. Launched in 2004, IDAHOT commemorates that day and is a global occasion to educate about and advocate for the LGBT+ community. Visit May17.org for ideas on how to take action.
Victoria Day (CAN)
Monday May 22
Victoria Day began as a celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday on the 24th of May and has endured since the Canada government declared it a national holiday in 1845. Informally, it also marks the start of the summer season and is celebrated with picnics, parades, and fireworks. Here's wishing a happy and safe Victoria Day to our Canadian employees!
Memorial Day (US)
Monday, May 29
Memorial day is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring those who have died while serving in the U.S. Military. Many visit cemeteries and memorials on this day to honor and mourn. Memorial Day is also considered the unofficial start of summer in the United States.
